Dominic Clare
Dominic's art draws on a range of cross-cultural influences from his birthplace in Ethiopia, to his interest in ancient history and organic structures. After carving he shot blasts and burns the wood, exposing the grain by blowing away the soft summer growth. Both methods tighten the surface tension to reveal purity of form.
Dominic has undertaken numerous public commissions throughout the UK and has exhibited widely. He recently relocated to a larger studio near Bath where he has renovated a former scrap yard. Visit his studio gallery by appointment.
